Smith Hardware and Lumber and Hometown Ace Hardware are looking for SEASONAL Cashiers/Sales Associates.
We would like to present our customers with the best holiday shopping experience.
Seasonal associates will have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule on a temporary basis, which may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and busy events such as the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas.
Location:
Smith Ace Hardware and Lumber 3 Station Square, Rockport, MA across from MBTA Commuter Rail Rockport line with access from Boston, Lynn, Beverly, and the greater Boston area.
AndLocation:
Hometown Ace Hardware, 231 Gloucester Crossing, Gloucester, MA.
Conveniently located off of Route 128.
GENERAL SUMMARYThe Sales Associate will assist in the receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness.
This position will also cross-train as a cashier and will be responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise.
Customer ServiceoProject a positive representation of Smith Ace Hardware and Lumber and Hometown Ace Hardware.
oGreet customers entering and throughout the store.
Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
oProject a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
oClear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
oAnswer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
oCommunicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
oContinually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
oAssist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.
Register OperationsoFollow all cash register transaction procedures.
oAdhere to any Store Support Center program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers.
oBasic math and money counting skills.
Front End Appearance and UpkeepoKeep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times.
Face and dust front end.
oAssist with keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change.
oEnsure distribution of current sales fliers to customers in store.
oEnsure forms and supplies are stocked at all times.
oAssist with decorating the front end according to the Store Support Center program.
oCall for cart pickups when necessary.
oInform management when merchandise returns need to be put away.
oPerform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School or GED equivalent.
ExperienceCashier and Customer Services experience preferred.
Will train.
Additional Info:
Standing up to 8 hours per shift, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.
